Zhanjiang Airport
Zhanjiang Airport, located in the southwest suburb of the Zhanjiang City and about 5 km from the urban area, covers an area of 2 730 mu (circa 182 hectares). It is designed according to Aerodrome Reference Code 4D, and is estimated to handle 1.3 million passengers per year. Zhanjiang Airport is intended to be an important trunkline airport in western Guangdong and surrounding the North Bay area, and to gradually become an important general aviation base surrounding the North Bay area.
Zhanjiang Airport runway is 2 400 meters long and 60 meters wide. The total area of the domestic terminal is 12 521 square meters; the total area of international terminal 2 700 square meters; and the total area of cargo terminal 2 700 square meters, capable of handling 100 000 tons of cargo per year.
Currently, Zhanjiang Airport operates a total of 21 routes, connecting 26 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Jieyang, Foshan, Zhuhai, Haikou, Sanya, Nanning, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Nanchang, Shenyang, Dalian and Bangkok. It signed partnership agreement with 12 airlines, including China Southern Airlines, Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Okay Airways, Spring Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Capital Airlines, China United Airlines, China Express Airlines, Lucky Air, and GX Airlines.
In 2016, Zhanjiang Airport recorded 19 800 movements, and handled 1.546 million passengers and 11 936 tons of mail and cargo. This year, Zhanjiang Airport will seek to achieve the target of handling "200 million passengers".
